Educators and supporters meet at Wetlands Park after long day of rallying

After a long day of marching, supporters and educators gathered at the West Wetlands Park to discuss the movement and their plans moving forward.

Several people also shared their testimonies of what it means to be an educator in Arizona and reminisced about the times when they were once students.

Tomorrow, Friday, April 27th beginning as early as 6 am. Yuma County teachers are walking in with Crane Schools to support their colleagues. Crane School District decided not to take part in the walkout that took place Thursday.

Educators will support each school until noon and wait for a decision on Monday.

Below is a list of schools and their designated walk-in locations:

Democratic Minority House Whip Charlene Fernandez shared her experience at the capitol on Thursday. She confirmed the Legislature went into caucus and she can’t confirm what was discussed, but she is hoping it was the budget.

The Legislature recessed Thursday afternoon and will return to discuss the budget and more on Monday.
