MCAS conducting full-scale base Force protection exercise

The Marine Corps Air Station Yuma will be conducting a full-scale base Force Protection exercise starting Monday, April 23rd through Thursday, April 26th.

Semper Durus 18 is a regional command post exercise that involves field training scenarios designed to improve regional command and control, enhance interagency coordination, and improve installation capabilities to respond and recover from a crisis event.

Station headquarters will be an active participant and station employees should expect restricted traffic in and around the headquarters building on April 24th.

The exercise will also involve numerous simulated threats throughout the exercise such as an active shooter on Tuesday, April 24th.

Several units from the base, other military, and civilian organizations will be participating in the scenarios.

Yuma Regional Medical Center and Yuma County Airport Authority will also be part of the exercise to increase compatibility between the groups.
