Cesar Chavez Art Contest winners presented with medals

In celebration of Cesar Chavez Day, the City of San Luis held the the Cesar Chavez “Harvesting Hope” Art and Poetry Scholarship contest. Hundreds of dollars in scholarships were given out to the winners. During this week’s City Council meeting, the winners were also presented with medals from Mayor Gerardo Sanchez and Council-member Africa Luna Carrasco.

Here are the list of winners:

K-6th Grade Winners:
1st Place: Nicole Nieto, Ed Pastor Elementary
2nd Place: Maria Jose Covarrubian, Ed Pastor Elementary
3rd Place: Alexis Botello, Ceasar Chavez Elementary

7th-12th Grade Winners:
1st Place: Julissa Bustamante, San Luis High School
2nd Place: Margoth Soto, PPEP Tec High School
3rd Place: Yulianna Ramirez, Kofa High School
