Border Patrol believes guard troops will be good for security at the border

Border Patrol agents believe President Donald Trump’s order to send National Guard troops to the southern border will be effective.

“Everything is still fluid. We don’t have any specifics on who, what, where, when, how, and why, but like I said before, we do have a good relationship with them. So if they come to the Yuma sector, we do believe they will be able to help out in securing making our community safe,” said Justin Kallinger, operations officer with the U.S. Border Patrol.

Trump is considering sending 2,000 to 4,000 National Guard troops to the southern border as military forces will be deployed to reinforce security.

There is still no word on how much this will cost, but Trump announced he has a “pretty good idea.”

He also insists the troops remain at the southern border until the wall is complete.

In 2006 President George W. Bush sent 6,000 National Guard troops to help out with border security and in 2010, President Obama sent 1,200.

Combined, both operations cost an estimate of more than 1.3 billion dollars combined.
