CBP officers arrest man with outstanding homicide warrant
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a 34-year-old man who had an outstanding homicide warrant on Friday.
The incident happened at about 8 a.m. when the man, a U.S. citizen, approached a CBP officer and handed him a U.S. passport. The officer referred the man to secondary processing where an inquiry of the man’s fingerprints was done and confirmed his identity as Efrain Alvarez. Alvarez had an outstanding felony warrant for homicide issued by the San Bernardino’s Sheriff’s Department with no bail set.
After the warrant was confirmed, the man was turned over to the custody of the Calexico Police Department and transported to the Imperial County Jail to await extradition.
