David Garcia supports raise in salary for teachers

Democratic candidate for Governor David Garcia said he supports the demand by teachers for a 20 percent raise.

Garcia said his ‘Real Investment in Arizona Schools Plan’ released March 1, would raise the revenue to give teachers the raises they are demanding and place them alongside their regional counterparts in terms of salary.

“With the necessary political courage, we can easily give our teachers the raise they deserve and make sure they are paid as much as the teachers in neighboring states” said Garcia.

Garcia states that when he is elected he will fully staff the state Department of Revenue so that they are enforcing existing tax codes and close corporate tax loopholes and exemptions , that currently allow 74 percent of Arizona corporations to reduce their income tax liability to less than 50 dollars.

“It’s time for good government in Arizona. It’s time for a good governor. The longer we continue to elect people who are bought and paid for by out of state wealthy corporations the worse the situation will get” said Garcia.
