Foot pursuit in Yuma ends with two arrested

A 36-year-old man and 24-year-old woman were arrested after leading officers on foot pursuit Thursday morning in Yuma.

Police responded to a call in reference to reckless driving of two vehicles on Thursday morning around 9:30 am on 8th Street and Magnolia Avenue. Later, another call came in reference to the same vehicles, but this time it was a disturbance, now on 14th Avenue and 16th Street by the Main Canal. Upon arrival and locating the vehicles, police say two suspects jumped out one of the vehicles and took off running. At that point police called in more reinforcement, but once the other officers arrived, the vehicles were gone.

According to YPD, despite the vehicles missing, officers entered in a foot pursuit and were able to catch up to both the suspects, resulting in an arrest for possession of drugs and trespassing.
