Visitors support local charities while enjoying music and art

It’s an annual music event that brings people from all over North America. It’s the 12th annual San Felipe Blues and Arts Fiesta that was held over the weekend in San Felipe, Baja California.

The fiesta is more than just a fun event for visitors. It is held to help The Lions’ Club with their mission, making a difference for those less fortunate in the community.

The event began with a vision to help serve communities, by raising money to help provide medical care, education, and various other services.

Overlooking the breathtaking views of the nearby Sea of Cortez, The El Dorado Ranch in San Felipe hosts the fiesta. San Felipe, Baja California transforms and comes alive with the sound of music from international artists filling the air.

Visitors come to not only enjoy authentic music but to also look at esteemed artists who bring their best art pieces, including jewelry. It’s perfectly paired with food and refreshments.

The fiesta acts as the premier fundraising event to support local charities in San Felipe.

“I just know that it’s a continuous effort to help the people of San Felipe and Baja California, whether it be an orphanage, a church, or a school, we’re always here to support it,” Rita Mollica, a frequent visitor of the fiesta, said.

The fiesta has helped the San Felipe community by implementing an orphanage for displaced and abused children, according to their official website.

This year, they are using funds to help build an elementary and junior high school, consisting of nine classrooms.

“They’ll do the first 9 grades with us and it’s going to be a complete 8 hour school day,” Gary Lewis, Director of Sonrise Academy, said.

The school is estimated to be completed later this year.
