Yuma woman arrested after recording anti-muslim video at mosque
Tempe police arrested a woman from Yuma, along with another woman, Thursday after they recorded themselves in a Mosque saying anti-Muslim comments earlier this month.
Tahnee Gonzales, 32 of Yuma, and Elizabeth Dauenhauer are now facing charges of third-degree burglary, but police haven’t ruled out possible hate crime charges.
The anti-Muslim video was posted on Facebook through Gonzales’ Facebook account.
In the video you can see the two women driving to a Mosque in Tempe, Ariz.
According to Yahoo News there were three children present during the recording of the video.
In the video you an hear them saying, “Look at this Mosque, this ugly Mosque here in our backyard in America.”
The video continues for several minutes.
According to police the incident happened Sunday, March 4 a little after 10 a.m. Police said the women entered the Islamic Community Center Courtyard through a gate marked with a sign that states, “No Trespassing”. Police said they removed several educational flyers, pamphlets, calendars, air fresheners, Qurans and other items.
According to documents, Gonzales lives in Glendale, Ariz. but on her Facebook page she is listed as living in Yuma. It also states she went to Kofa High School.
