YPG honors Pi Day with pies

In honor of “PI” Day the Yuma Proving Ground celebrated with pies Wednesday morning.

3.14 is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant ratio to the circumference of a circle to its diameter.

YPG had fun with the holiday with slices of pie for everyone. They even turned it into a contest, categorizing the pies in three different categories: most unique pie, most like grandma’s and most savory. The overall purpose besides eating pie was to highlight the importance of 3.14 in their everyday use at YPG.

“Even with all the different things we do…parachute…”PI” is used to find exact location,” shared Stefanie Jacobs, one of the organizer’s of “PI” day at YPG.

YPG’s workforce consists of engineers, scientists, mathematicians, computer programmers and other technical experts.
