Local students explore the Engineer Field Tour

A local field tour for over 100 students is giving a glimpse of the universe.

From the NASA hanger to the Air Traffic Tower, high school students had the opportunity to learn about the opportunities and experience in the local engineering field. The purpose of the tour is to show the operations done in Yuma County and how it serves vital information that can lead to the future of science-engineering technology.

The tour is hosted by the University of Arizona’s Engineering 102 Program, where five local high schools work throughout the school year to earn up to three transferable credit to any University they apply to where there’s an engineering program. The next stop for these students is the Yuma Proving Ground where they will learn about the operations and equipment used on location.
