Flying high in the sky!

AFTER MAKING THE CITY OF EL CENTRO THEIR HOME FOR WINTER TRAINING, THE BLUE ANGELS ARE READY TO TAKE OFF THIS SATURDAY FOR THE EL CENTRO AIR SHOW. Our news 11s reporter, Billy Khang had a chance to speak with a blue angels pilot who will soar into the sky.

After making the city of El Centro their home for winter training, the blue angels are ready to take of this saturday for the El Centro Air Show.

We had a chance to speak with a blue angels pilot, Commander Eric Doyle, who will soar into the sky this weekend. Commander Doyle said, “we’re going into our seventy second year of the blue angels. It started in 1-9-4-6 in Jacksonville, Florida with Butch Forrest, Commander Butch Forrest just after World War two. We’ve had the opportunity to showcase naval aviation to the public since.

Commander Doyle also said, there’s something for everyone.

There’s so many great things about this air show. Not just this air show but any air show. Yes the blue angels are there, but there a lot of great performers that start the day off. Not only on Saturday, but also on Friday night, there’ll be a night performance. Just a lot of great flight demonstrations to take part of. And as well as the exhibits here on the base. The base opens their doors to the public of the Imperial Valley and there’s so much great things to see.”

But it takes a team to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Air Framer, Anthony Rodriguez says, “we have a lot of people that come from the fleet, stellar performers. Everybody here is great at what they do. To have everybody come here as individuals essentially and become a team. It’s really incredible to see everybody just come together and just make these things happen.

The El Centro Air Show opens this Saturday at 9 A.M. and is free to the public.
