MVD makes new hours permanent
It may just be one of many dreaded tasks that we as humans have to endure; waiting at the Department of Motor Vehicles. But, in the past two years the Arizona Department of Transportation’s Motor Vehicle Division has been toying with a few new concepts to ease our torment.
In 2016, MVD began testing a new schedule which opened 11 of their offices throughout the state thirty minutes earlier. The latest numbers have shown that the experiment was an overwhelming success and is now a permanent fixture for the entire state. By opening their offices at 7:30 am rather than 8:00 am the MVD was able to help more people and finish needed paperwork faster and more efficiently. The change in times also reduced the amount of overtime being paid out and that saves taxpayers money.
Another change is their Wednesday schedule; according to ADOT offices will open at noon in order to allow employees extra time to train. For an MVD office near you log onto to their http://www.servicearizona.com site.
