Best Buy cleans out CDs from their stores
For most of us we’ll always remember buying our first CD or vinyl but now Best Buy is clearing out CDs from their stores, and reminding us to download and stream our favorite music.
On Tuesday Best Buy said in a statement that they will end CD sales starting July 1st, 2018. The decision comes after low sales with an estimated 89 million CD units sold in 2017, compared to the 800 million sold in 2001, according to Consumer Affairs.
With streaming services like Spotify, Tidal, or Apple Music, consumers are finding a new way to listen to music. Meanwhile, the lonely aisle at the back of the Best Buy store is filled with award-winning albums that will only be available for a limited time.
Will DVDs be next?
