Claire’s recall makeup products after signs of cancer-causing asbestos
Nearly ten items are being recalled after a mother from Rhode Island told the popular kid’s retailer there’s something dangerous in their products. According to WJAR, a news station in Providence, Rhode Island, the mother who works for a law firm mailed her daughter’s makeup and other Claire’s products for testing. Once the results came in, it revealed the presence of cancer-causing tremolite asbestos. Claire’s quickly responded on Twitter saying they have pulled the items off the shelf and will conduct an independent laboratory testing on the products. With over 1500 stores in the nation, we asked shoppers in our area of what they think of the recall on their children’s favorite store. “It’s scary”, says Serafina Guzman, a mother who was shopping with two daughters. “You never know what you’re getting these days with their products or any products in general. They like going there because everything looks “cute” and “glittery” for them, and I probably would’ve bought that, you know I wouldn’t want them to wear adult make up.” For a full list click here.
