Pet Talk: Deandra and Elton
The holidays are near and tonight we revisit two animals that have already made their pet talk debut, but are still at the shelter looking for their forever home.
First is Deandra, a tan pit bull that is extremely personable and loves attention. At a sturdy 60 pounds, her favorite activity is playing catch with a tennis ball. She’s extremely energetic and would make for the perfect companion for an active family. She seems to do well with other dogs, however can get a bit overwhelmed by canines that are more on the dominant side. She is patient and is leashed trained. Deandra is spayed and has been at the shelter since October.
Next, we have Elton. A blue-eyed tan pit bull. He was a stray found in Yuma. He is full of energy and loves to run around. It’s a must that his owners be active and or have a large space for him to roam. His favorite activities are playing fetch and swimming in the pool. He loves the water. Elton weighs 70 pounds and he has been at the shelter since August. It would truly be a Christmas miracle if both of these dogs got adopted before Christmas and had their very own place to call home.
If you are interested either Deandra or Elton, you can call the Humane Society of Yuma at (928) 782-1621. They are open Tuesday through Sunday and for more information you can head to Madison Kimbro’s Facebook page @MADISONKYMA
