Border Patrol apprehend convicted sex offender in Wellton
Border Patrol agents at the Wellton Station apprehended 11 men, that included a convicted sex offender, early Wednesday for entering the United States illegally.
Border Patrol agents patrolling near Tacna, Ariz. encountered the group Wednesday morning and transported them to the Wellton Station for processing.
Agents learned that 26-year-old Jose Luis Zuniga-Doblado, a Honduran citizen, had been deported on three separate occasions, convicted multiple times of sexual assault and aggravated assault.
Zuniga will remain in federal custody for criminal immigration violations while waiting for a final disposition.
