They’ve become the face of terrorism; ISIS also referred to as the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant in Syria. The splinter cell that spawned from Al-Qaeda has spread throughout the globe and has called on lone wolf attackers to fight for their cause. Most recent was the attack in New York were a 29 year old New Jersey man drove a truck down a bike path killing eight and seriously injuring twelve others.
It’s still early in the investigation, but sources are revealing that Sayfullo Habibullaevic Salpov formally of Uzbekistan was inspired by videos and propaganda he found online. According to media sources investigators found several videos and pictures on cell phones tied to Salpov. According to agencies who monitor pro-ISIS websites, terrorist groups use social media to encourage attacks and even recruit soldiers.
