Border Patrol agents arrest Guatemalan national convicted of sexual assault
Border Patrol agents from the Three Points station arrested a Guatemalan national convicted of sexual assault as he attempted to enter the United States illegally Tuesday morning.
Agents were conducting a records check on 34-year-old Guilebaldo Ramos-Mendez when they learned he was convicted in New Haven, CT for first and third-degree assault, as well as sexual assault, in 2006.
Ramos was arrested and is being held in federal custody pending prosecution for criminal immigration violations.
