YUHSD approves supplemental salary for new interim superintendent

Newly named Interim Superintendent Gina Thompson will earn a supplemental salary to perform her duties in addition to her current duties as Associate Superintendent.

The salary, which was approved by the Yuma Union High School District’s Governing Board during Wednesday’s special board meeting, will be based on a supplemental salary of $15,000 divided by all of the work days in a year. She will be paid the rate of approximately $53 per day for days worked, beginning Oct. 2nd.

Thompson, who has been an Associate Superintendent with YUHSD for six years, will step in for current Superintendent Toni Badone, beginning Oct. 2nd.

Badone is set to retire on Oct. 1st.
