Yuma Civic Center prepares for Fiestas Patrias

Thousands of people in the Yuma community will gather today at the Yuma Civic Center to celebrate the Fiestas Patrias to honor the Independence Day of Mexico.

The free family event is a street fair with many local artists and vendors selling authentic food.

The City of Yuma partnered with local businesses such as Yuma Honda, State Farm Agents of Yuma, the United States Army Recurring Center, and Del Taco to name a few.

Marketing specialist for the City of Yuma, Carrie Ring says, “It’s a very unique experience and I’m happy to be a part of it.” Ring is one of the many people involved with the preparations.

The street fair starts at 5 p.m. and will conclude with a 15 minuet firework shows before closing time at 10 p.m.
