Seven-week weapons and tactics course begins at MCAS

Students and instructors arrived in Yuma to attend the Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) course 1-18 at the Marines Corps Base this past Sunday.

The seven-week course, hosted by Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron (MAWTS) One, will teach and apply the latest in aviation, ground, and support tactics, techniques, and procedures as an integrated Marine Air Ground Task Force.

Some of the highlights of WTI will include a scenario-based, Non-Combatant Evacuation Operation from Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, Calif.

WTI will also provide Foreign Humanitarian Assistance (FHA) in Yuma, Ariz., as well as multiple large-scale, combined arms exercises.
