One dead in fatal rollover
One person is dead following a rollover crash near the Fortuna Foothills, just east of Telegraph Pass.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the rollover happened at mile post 20.7 on the eastbound side of Interstate 8 at about 2:10 p.m. Friday.
According to officials the vehicle drifted off the left side of the curve and rolled over.
There was only one occupant inside the vehicle. Officials don’t believe alcohol played a factor in the accident.
DPS said the driver was wearing a seat belt, but said the crash was very intense.
All eastbound traffic in the area was detoured to Dome Valley Road and through Wellton, but the detour ended just after 5 p.m. Friday.
