Officials respond to disturbance near local bar

The Yuma Police Department responded to a disturbance near a local bar on Friday evening.

According to officials, Yuma Police Department received a disturbance call at around 4:45 p.m. from Maverick Bar and b ased on an initial investigation, it was revealed to be a stabbing.

According to the bar owner, Monica Maverick, the victim came to the bar to ask for help which led to the 911 call.

The victim, a male, was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center with non-threatening injuries.

The suspect was taken into custody and the incident still remains under investigation.
