Road work set to start today

The Arizona Department of Transportation has started work on a portion of Interstate 8, between mile post 33 and mile post 55. The project is set to continue on until September 12 and will take place Monday through Thursday from 5:00 am until 5:00 pm. ADOT Crews will be doing pavement preservation and any needed repairs; the area in question is located between the Mohawk Valley and the Town of Dateland.

According to ADOT that portion of road will be narrowed and reduced to one lane; drivers are asked to plan ahead and add extra time to their trip. As always we ask that if you do plan on driving near work zones that you follow posted speed signs and be aware of workers in the area.
