I-8 traffic switch between Sidewinder and Ogilby Roads

Caltrans crews have reduced traffic to a single lane on westbound Interstate 8 (I-8) between Sidewinder Road and approximately one mile west of Ogilby Road early Tuesday.

Both travel directions have been switched to the I-8 eastbound lanes and are divided by k-rail.

The westbound on- and off-ramps at Ogilby Road (Exit 159) are also closed to traffic. Signs have been placed to alert drivers to the ramp closures and alternate routes.

Detour Ogilby Road to Westbound I-8: Motorists may access eastbound I-8 from Ogilby Road and exit Sidewinder Road to access westbound I-8.

Detour Westbound I-8 to Ogilby Road: Motorists may proceed westbound I-8 past Ogilby Road and exit at Grays Well Road and access eastbound I-8 to Ogilby Road.

This arrangement is expected to remain in effect until the end of the year. Traffic impacts include reduced speed limits through the construction area and possible travel delays.
