Yuma Community Food Bank facing volunteer shortage

The Yuma Community Food Bank continues to fight the war on hunger, but that fight gets more difficult during the summer. In addition to an increase in community need, the food bank also faces a decrease in donations, along with a shortage of volunteers.

Representatives from the food bank also say unemployment rate rises, more children become food insecure, and the agricultural business slows down.

The Yuma Community Food Bank needs volunteers Monday through Friday and is also always in need of food or monetary donations. For more information on how you can get involved you can visit their website at www.yumafoodbank.org or visit the food bank in person at 2404 East 24th Street Yuma, Ariz. 85365.
