Change of Command at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma

Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma continued a long lasting tradition by bringing new leadership.

The ceremony of the change of command was completed Tuesday morning with Colonel Ricardo Martinez passing the responsibility as commander to Colonel David A. Siggs.

It’s a tradition that’s been going on for decades in Yuma. We caught up with Mayor Doug Nicholls on what this ceremony means to our military community.

“It means a lot because it’s a recommitment of the Marine Corps and the Marine Corps leadership to Yuma and the mission here. It reinforces the “everyday” man and woman who have sacrificed during their service time and showed that there is leadership,strength, and support to their mission.”
