New requirements for California commercial drivers begin today

The California Department of Motor Vehicles has new requirements for commercial drivers that begin Wednesday.

The DMV will now require certain drivers to provide proof of California Residency as well as proof of legal presence.

The drivers that will have to abide by the new requirements are commercial drivers and drivers that are hired for transportation of either people or products.

Along with proof of residency, they will have to provide proof of citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or legal presence.

We will have more on the changes in a full report on KYMA News 11 at 5 and 6 PM.
