Suspects vandalize vacant Yuma home, cause thousands of dollars in damage

Yuma police search for the person or people responsible for vandalizing a vacant home, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

Officials with the Yuma Police Department (YPD) say sometime between 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2017 an unknown suspects broke into a vacant house in the 1600 block of South 45th Avenue by kicking down the garage side door.

Once inside the house, the suspects caused extensive damage to the property, according to police officials.

Then, sometime between 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2017 and 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, the suspects returned to the home and spray-painted gang affiliated graffiti on some of the walls.

Police estimate the damage to be about $28,000.

YPD has no information on the suspects, and the case remains under investigation.
