Sheriff’s office gets $20K from Ducey’s office

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the governor’s office.

Sheriff officials say the money will be used to fund overtime for DUI enforcement and other selective traffic enforcement.

The plan is to beef up patrols county-wide in a effort to enforce the state’s impaired driving laws.

Officials say they hope to see alcohol-related injuries and fatalities go down.
