Man tries to enter Calexico home impersonating Dish technician

Calexico Police said the residents of a home on the 1100th block of Camino Del Rio had a suspicious-looking man knocking at their door on Wednesday afternoon.

The man told them he needed to go inside to fix something related to dish network. He did not show identification, nor did he wear technician-type clothing and was driving a white four-door sedan instead of a company vehicle, according to police. The man left the area when the residents refused to let him inside.

The residents called dish who told them they had not sent anyone to their home.

Officer Ruben Lopez describes the man as a white Caucasian in his mid-thirties.

“He said that he was there to repair the DVR in their living room and he needed to gain access in order to fix that piece of equipment. Whenever you encounter anyone who tries to gain access into your residence, make sure that they do have proper identification of who they are,” Lopez said.

Calexico Police ask anyone with information to contact them.
