Obeying Bike lanes

We’re seeing more bike lanes in the city of Yuma, and the Yuma Police Department wants to remind drivers to stay out of the bike lanes and watch for cyclists.

Sgt.Lori Franklin says some drivers do not respect their boundaries and cross the bike lane which could lead to an accident.

“You as a motorist traveling, you have to be aware to not travel in it.”

Some areas around schools and busy intersections is where drivers are crossing the line.

“The schools right now are the biggest issues where parents are pulling up to the bike lane to drop their kids off, and again that’s a huge issue.”
