Weather leaves 1,300 residents without power

Thirteen-hundred Arizona Public Service customers found themselves without power over night due to the stormy weather that came into Yuma on Wednesday evening.

Several power outages were reported around the county.

APS officals are currently working on restoring power to all customers and say there are about 585 APS customers without power as of noon (Mountain Time).

Some businesses were left without power as well and are stuggling to keep their food.

APS officials say customers who buy ice, up to 40 pounds, can turn in their receipts for reinbursment with the utility provider.

Several stop lights around town were also affected by the outage and drivers are having to treat intersections as four-way stops.

Weather sources forecast more rain on Saturday.
