CPD conducts traffic enforcement operation for holidays

Calexico Police implemented on Friday a traffic focused enforcement operation along major streets and roads of the city.

Officials said they stopped suspicious looking vehicles or drivers who did not obey the rules of the road. They said K-9 units were on hand to be used when needed.

Officer Ruben Lopez said these operations save lives during the holiday season.

Officer Lopez said, “Depending on the time of year – we’re in the Christmas holidays – so we have additional motorists throughout our city from other parts of the county and the state. So, we do focused enforcement in the areas where we additional motorists. And in this case Imperial Avenue.”

The operation was conducted from 7 to 11 p.m.
