STYLE FILE: How to style hair in the summer without hot tools
(KYMA, KECY) - There are a wide variety of factors that can damage hair during the summer that also come along with the season. Some include, the blazing sun, water and high winds.
The sun constantly beaming down on people's heads can end up damaging and causing breaking on the hair. It can also result in brittle, long-term damage on top of using hot tools.
However, there are precautions you can take to keep hair strong and healthy during the toasty months.
"Do hairstyles where maybe you're not having to add heat to your hair like putting a cute braid in or a bun. This can help eliminate the amount of heat and damage that you're putting onto your hair," said Sarah, a hairstylist from Blush Hair and Beauty Bar in Yuma.
Asides from trying out new hairstyles, getting a trim every four to six weeks, wearing hats, and using a deep conditioning or reparative mask a few times a week can dramatically make a difference in hair health.
