Turn quarantine time into quality time for your beauty routine

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The saying goes beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Luckily, there is an endless amounts of ways to amplify your beauty routine if it needs some sprucing up. From spa treatments to different serums and oils there are solutions out there for all types of skin.

Cindy Rosandich, owner of Laser Gals Skin Studio in Yuma, and ARRA Certified Laser Technician/Laser Safety Officer (LSO) and Licensed Esthetician is a strong believer in her motto, "Beauty is an inside job that begins with loving the skin you’re in." After all, our skin is the largest and often most neglected organ of the human body.

Here are her 5 at-home beauty tips to try out while at home so you can come out of quarantine glowing and healthier.

#1: Use a face mask

Whether you have dry, oily or sensitive skin there's a face mask out there for everyone. Applying a mask a few times a week can help boost the appearance of skin and minimize the appearance of pores. However, reading the reviews before you purchase a mask is key. Make sure it has the right ingredients you're looking for and enough positive feedback. I recommend Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque.

#2: Protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays

Sunscreen is such an important regime that should be added into everyone's day. Even when you don't have plans to go outside, wearing sunscreen inside surprisingly is just as crucial. In an article from Vogue, Kaya Patel, cofounder of Sonrei skin care, a new vegan and reef-friendly brand that was made with darker skin tones in mind, adds that UVA rays that reach you through the windows “can possibly damage your skin in as little as 15 minutes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.” Supergoop's Superscreen Daily Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 40 provides a lot of hydration and is great on gentle skin for everyday use.

#3: Clean your makeup brushes

This one is very underrated. Can you think of the last time you cleaned your makeup brushes? According to Allure, "Most dermatologists will tell you to soak your tools, especially foundation and concealer brushes, once a week — minimum — to prevent product buildup." The cleaner makeup brushes are, the better. It's recommended to use warm water and a cleaner of your choice. Then swish brushes on a paper towel using the cleaner product. Once finished, lay them flat to dry. I'm a big fan of the Daily Brush Cleaner by Sephora Collection. It's quick drying and alcohol-free which is what you want for your brushes!

#4: Treat yourself to a foot mask

It's like going to the spa at home. Investing in a good foot mask can help heal the cracked and dry heels that a lot of people suffer from. After a long, day it is important to moisturize your body but make sure to take care of your feet, that you're on all day, too. The Shea Butter Super Soft Foot Cream from Bath & Body Works is a fan favorite of mine. It's made with shea butter, avocado oil, olive oil and grapeseed oil in the scent eucalyptus. Apply the cream all over your feet and throw on some soft, fuzzy socks and sleep in it overnight. Amazing!

#5: Use cuticle oil often

Your cuticles will thank you later with this one. Cuticle oil doesn't only have to be applied at the nail salon. I personally keep this little bottle next to my nightstand and use it every night before I go to sleep. Apply a few drops to each cuticle and then massage in. Asides from improving dryness, cuticle oil can help improve the overall health and appearance of your nails.
