Eye on Jobs: Never too late

Job expert says never too old to rejoin the workforce

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - So, the day has come, the day when lounging on the patio is now your 9 to 5. But you find yourself not living as high of a life as you thought or you've hit a detour.

So, you find yourself having to re-enter the workforce and you may think your age may count against you. Not according to career expert Courtney Nelson with the Goodwill Career Center of Yuma.

Your years of experience is a hot ticket item for employers and industries across the country are looking for people just like you. One industry, in particular, is teaching, many states are facing severe teacher shortages, and that degree hanging in the R.V. may just be your ticket to shaping young minds.

Maybe, just maybe you miss that office setting, well Nelson says companies are always on the hunt for administrative staff with years under their belt.

Real Estate is another industry where Nelson says our seasoned workforce can dive on in. Now, if the open road is more your speed, Nelson says that the entire country is facing a driver shortage, especially in commerce.

Regardless of what field you're interested in taking on, the Goodwill Career Center nearest you has all the tools you need to make your transition back into the workforce as fluid as possible.
