Los Angeles Mayor holds press conference on rising homelessness

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass held a press conference on Monday to discuss the city's enhanced emergency declaration on the homeless crisis.

The press conference comes after new data from Los Angeles Homeless Service authorities revealed a steady rise in homelessness despite Bass having declared a state of emergency on homelessness during her first day in office, according to CBS News Los Angeles.

"One of the things we need to identify is a location for safe parking so that the RVs can go someplace and stay there. And they're not in neighborhoods. So that'll be one of the first issues we work on. But just because we're starting a task force does not mean we're gonna sit around and study it. We can study and act at the same time," Bass stated.

More then 46,000 people are experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles, according to CBS News Los Angeles.
