Dr. Ruiz, US Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm to visit Salton Sea

PALM DESERT, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-36) and U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm will visit the Salton Sea to host listening sessions on the impacts of climate change.

Both Dr. Ruiz and U.S. Secretary Granholm will make the visit on Wednesday, April 20.

The listening sessions will include local community members and leaders to hear their direct experiences with the environmental impacts of the Salton Sea.

Another reason for the visit is the possibility of the area of the Salton Sea to unclose clean energy sources with the deposit of lithium underneath the Salton Sea for the shift to a clean energy future.
