Gubernatorial candidate focusing on Yuma in recent campaign ad

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - We’re less than seven months away from the August primary election in Arizona, with the race for governor, one of the top stories we’re keeping an eye on.

Republican candidate Karrin Taylor Robson launched her first ad campaign focused on border issues we’re facing in Yuma County.

Her first stop on the campaign trail was at the Morelos Dam, a crossing hotspot right now, as we all know.

Many other Republican contenders also focused on the same.

Robson says she has solutions.

“We will find the resources to send to our local law enforcement and our sheriff's we will increase penalties for people caught breaking the law we will we will enforce the law and it's something that I'm committed to doing,” Robson explained.

New campaign fundraising numbers from the Secretary of State’s office show Robson had more individual donors than any other Republican candidate.

With over 16,000 supports donating while Republican candidate Kari Lake had six-thousand.

Steve Gaynor has the most contributions, over five million dollars, with most of that money coming from his own account.

Democratic candidate Katie Hobbs has brought in almost three million dollars.
