Grijalva applauds passage of Great American Outdoors Act
Bill called most significant conservation legislation in 50-years
WASHINGTON, D.C. (KYMA, KECY) - Conservationists are applauding the passage of the Great American Outdoors Act.
The bipartisan bill spends nearly $3-billion on conservations projects, outdoor recreation, and maintenance of national parks and public lands. Supporters say its the most significant conservation measure enacted in more than 50-years.
The bill spends about $900 million a year on land and water conservation, and nearly $2 billion on parks and other lands.
Rep. Raúl Grijalva, who represents Yuma County in Congress, celebrated the legislation's passage with this tweet:

The House approved the bill Wednesday, weeks after it easily cleared the Senate. It now heads to President Donald Trump's desk for his signature.
