Poder Latinx Celebrates National Voter Registration Day

U.S. Army

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) is celebrating its 10 year anniversary on September 20.

In a press release, NVRD was established to promote civic engagement and increase voter participation by registering new voters or updating existing voter registration.

Poder Latinx

Furthermore, Poder Latinx is proud to participate in this civic holiday for the third year in a row.

They will be hosting community gatherings with voter registration drives and press conferences.

Since it's inception, Poder Latinx led year-round voter registration and engagement programs to register Latinx communities in:

  • Arizona
  • Georgia
  • Florida

Moreover, Poder Latinx has been able to register close to 35,000 new voters.

National Voter Registration Day (NVRD)

As the midterm elections near, voter registration deadlines in most states are only a few weeks away.

In addition to this, it is more important than ever to register voters to participate in the November elections.

Besides Poder Latinx, partner organizations, elected officials, and local community members are invited.

They hope they will take part in uplifting the importance of registering to vote.

Not only that, they hope those invited will discuss how Latinx voters can affect the outcome of the 2022 election.
