AG SUMMIT

YUMA, Ariz. (KECY/KYMA) -

One of the biggest local agriculture events of the year is just around the corner!

In this week’s Home Grown, I’ll give you a glimpse of what to expect for the 2020 Southwest Ag Summit happening February 25th through the 27th.

If you enjoy field demonstrations, learning about the newest advancements in agriculture and enjoying homegrown food then this is the event for you!

The Ag Summit starts on February 25th with the Jacob Louis Daily Golf Tournament & Lunch.

On the 26th, there will be field demonstrations, a Latino farmer symposium, and a trade show all happening at Arizona Western College.

To finish off the summit, there will be keynote panels including one on the future of precision agriculture.

During this panel, experts will weigh in on how local farmers can use data & technology to enhance production practices.

There will also be topics including irrigation management, immigration reform, fresh produce safety, crop protection, energy conservation, new cropping technology, and urban encroachment.

The highlight of the event will be the Harvest Dinner at the Colorado State Historic Park.

In partnership with the University of Arizona, Arizona Western College, and Yuma County Farm Bureau, Yuma Fresh Vegetable Association organizers provide current content that growers can directly apply to their present cultural and management practices.

Overall, the vision of the Southwest Agricultural Summit is to bring knowledge and innovation to agriculture in the desert regions and continue to make this area known throughout the world for the quality products that are grown here.

It is $125 to register which includes field demonstrations, evening reception, breakfast, keynote speaker presentations, the trade show and more. To sign up, click here
