U.S. Border Patrol in Tucson rescued 32 migrants in a moving truck

TUCSON, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The U.S. Border Patrol agents in Tucson rescued 32 migrants that were locked in a moving box truck.

According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), this incident happened after 6 p.m. when the agents attempted a vehicle stop on the truck near the I-10 Frontage Road and Grant Road intersection.

CBP mentioned the truck did not yield and instead sped west out of the city and came to a stop on a rural road southwest of Tucson.

The driver and front-seat passenger of the truck ran away on foot and agents found the 32 undocumented individuals compartment.

About 31 adult men and one juvenile from Mexico and Guatemala were found and sent to the Tucson Station for processing.

CBP said they could not find the suspected smuggler anywhere.
