State of City Address recap in El Centro
EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The city address happens once a year and this time around the city talked about the budget and its plans to make the community a safer place to live.
Mayor Tomas Oliva says the city has so much potential.
"We've had a lot of growth in the city, a lot of businesses coming in, there is a lot of tentative development plans," he said.
The address provided information pertaining to the El Centro's budget, significant projects that will be completed in the coming months and even major issues plaguing the community.
Oliva says homelessness is one of those issues.
"Whether it be mental health or emotional health, that needs to be addressed first before you could give someone housing and expect them to bounce back," he said.
