YPD to implement impaired driving detail for St. Patrick’s Day

Yuma Police Department / MGN

Holiday and weekend to have more officers on duty

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - More officers from the City of Yuma Police Department (YPD) will be looking out for impaired drivers beginning Thursday, March 17 to Sunday, March 20.

Police and Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety are focusing on promoting safe driving as festivities begin for St. Patrick's Day.

YPD recommends planning ahead on a way to get home and designating either a sober driver or using an Uber.

Impaired drivers should be reported to 911 or else they can be a danger while on the road.
