Home Grown: Ag Skillshare event allows farmers to collaborate ideas

News 11's April Hettinger breaks down the free event open to the public

YUMA , Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - In today's Home Grown, there's an upcoming event where ag knowledge is given and received.

The first-ever Yuma Agricultural Skillshare event will be a place where farmers can ask questions and receive input from others, or they can share their own expertise.

Participants will break off into their own groups.

There is no set schedule or agenda giving farmers the freedom to bring up whatever ag topics interest them, according to organizer Robert Masson, agriculture extension agent at the Yuma County Agricultural Center.

"Let's say you've developed a new piece of farming technology that you want to share with the group, or taking care of that new computer-driven tractor that you just purchased," Masson said. "What about sharing experiences of working north or south of the border? Or, discussing ways to keep weeds down on the farm in organic production."

The event is Wednesday, December 1 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Farmers are able to come and go as they wish for this free event. 

It will be held at Sonsray Machinery, formally known as Booth Machinery.
