Emergency readiness system test message to be heard in Yuma
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma's Bureau of Reclamation's Yuma Area Office (YAO) will be conducting multiple tests of a new wide area mass notification system this week.
The test will be conducted to verify that YAO's emergency readiness system has been properly installed before making it operational.
Designed to alert both on-site employees and nearby residents about an impending emergency condition at the YAO, the wide area mass notification system sirens can be heard several miles away from the facility.
No action or response is necessary from residents, businesses, or the local farming community during the emergency test procedure.
An audible “this is only a test” message will be heard during the testing.
