Local organization asking public to recognize nurses for their hard work
It’s a calling that most don’t answer and those that do are comprised of compassion, humility, and apathy. Nurses come from all walks of life and share an overwhelming desire to heal. Chances are when you visit a physician you’re more likely to remember the nurses than anything else.
In the latest Gallup poll, nurses have been chosen as one of the top professions that’s trusted and relied on heavily.
It’s estimated that in the United States alone, there are over four million nurses serving those in need in a variety of capacities and here in the desert southwest, nurses are recognized once a year for their efforts.
Local nurses, who were previously awarded, need your help in nominating those nurses you feel deserve to be recognized for their work. Awards range from mentoring, leadership, advocacy work, and the title of “Nurse of the Year”.
The Rio Colorado-Yuma Chapter of the Arizona Nurses Association will be hosting their annual nursing celebration on May 6 at The Patio restaurant.
